Kabul bomb-blast rips through wedding venue leaving devastation in its wake

A suicide bomber ripped through a wedding venue in Kabul on Saturday August 17.

This is the deadliest attack in the Afghanistan capital this year killing 63 and injuring more than 180 individuals.

Footage shows the decimation caused by the bomb to Dubai City wedding venue in western Kabul.

The ceiling is almost completely destroyed, windows are smashes and rubble is strewn all over the large venue.

Both the Taliban and Islamic State are known to carry out attacks in this area of Kabul where many of the minority Shiite Hazara sect live.

However in a statement released on August 18, along with a picture of a Pakistani man named Abu Asim, Islamic State claimed responsibility for the deadly attack .

Over 1000 guests had been invited to the wedding when Asim is reported to have detonated the explosive near a stage on which a group musicians were playing.

One eye witness told the Associated Press β€œall the youths, children and all the people who were there were killed."
