THANKS CHRIS ... WE AREGEEKING OUT ABOUT THE AMAZONRAINFOREST TODAY... ALSOCONSIDERED THE "PLANET'SLUNGS" BECAUSE IT HELPS CREATE20 PERCENT OF THE PLANET'SOXYGEN.

THE PROBLEM IS THATTHERE ARE A HISTORIC NUMBER OFWILDFIRES GOING ON IN THEAMAZON RAINFOREST RIGHT NOW.THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE FORSPACE RESEARCH SAID SATELLITEDATA HAS SHOWN AN INCREASE OF83% OF FIRES SINCE 2018 WHERETHERE WERE LESS THAN 40,000FIRES THE ENTIRE YEAR.

SO FARIN 2019 THERE HAVE BEEN MORETHAN 72,000 FIRES.

AND JUST INTHE LAST WEEK THERE HAVE BEENA DRASTIC INCREASE INRAINFOREST FIRES, MORE THAN9,000 SINCE THURSDAY, THAT'S66 NEW FIRES PER HOUR.

SOME OFTHESE FIRES BEGAN NATURALLY ASBRAZIL IS IN THE DRY SEASONBUT THIS YEAR IS WORSE THANNORMAL.

SOME ARE BEINGATTRIBUTED TO PEOPLEDELIBERATELY STARTING THEM INAN EFFORT TO ILLEGALLYDEFOREST LAND FOR CATTLERANCHING.
