Beatles fans will be able to follow in the footsteps of John Lennon as the grounds of the children's home which inspired Strawberry Fields Forever are opened to the public.
From Saturday, visitors will have the chance to walk through the gardens of the Strawberry Field home in Woolton, Liverpool, where Lennon would play as a boy.
The musician used to climb over the wall to gain entry to the Beaconsfield Road home, which he later immortalised in song, but the Salvation Army is now opening the site's famous red gates to the public as a tourist attraction and youth training centre.
Former Beatles drummer Ringo Starr ventured out in Beverly Hills on his 80th birthday on Tuesday (July 7) to wish the world 'peace and love', in what has become an annual ritual. Instead of an annual concert, Starr has gathered his friends together for an online performance called 'Ringo's Big Birthday Show', available on YouTube and AXS later on Tuesday.

Fabinho’s home has been burgled as the midfielder celebrated Liverpool’s long-awaited Premier League win, police said. Merseyside Police said in a statementthey were called to a house in Formby, Sefton, in the early hours of Thursdayafter the occupants found it had been burgled. Jewellery and a grey Audi RS6were stolen, though the car was later recovered in Wigan.
