3 west lafayette community school corporation is suing the state of indiana.it's suing because of a law that superintendent rocky killion and the school board feels is quote "unconstitutional" news 18's anna darling sat down with dr.killion this afternoon to learn more about the reason behind the suit.she joins us now from the old happy hallow elementary anna?

3 it's this old and historic school behind be that is the reason behind the suit.dr. killion says a law established in 2011 is threatening the future of the facility and local tax payers' rights.

3 the law states that a charter school can take unused public school property and least it for just one dollar.currently, the city of west lafayette is renting the old school temporarily.as the morton center is under construction.

Dr. killion says they have not had any charter schools approach wlcsc about leasing the school.but that he wants to be proactive.he says tax payers are the reason that happy hollow elementary exists.

And this law suit is about protecting the citizen's interests.
