Two years after tragedy struck, community is still #FreemanStrong
Friday marks two years since the tragedy at Freeman High School.

It's a somber day for the freeman community.

Two years ago -- as students filled the halls of freeman high school, a classmate opened fire,,.

Killing sam strahan, and injuring three other students.

In the days and weeks after the shooting -- the freeman community rallied together, bonded by their new motto: freeman strong.

Kyle simchuk is in studio to tell us how students are supporting each other today.

Tonight students, teachers, and parents will be gathering on the football field -- not to dwell in the tragedy, but to remember the young man who lost his life, and the heroism that took place two years ago.

15 year old sam strahan is credited with confronting his armed classmate -- he was shot an killed, three other students were injured.

The school's janitor is also hailed as a hero, saving countless lives -- he restrained the student gunman until deputies arrived.

The school is holding a candlelight vigil at dusk on the freeman high school football field.

The district says it continues to support each student and staff member wherever they are on their road to recovery.

We'll take you to freeman tonight on nightside -- and tell you about how the school is honoring sam with a month of service.

Chief meteorologist kris crocker is here with your forecast.

Saturday will be mostly cloudy as low pressure off the coast pushes high and mid level clouds over the region.

There is also a chance of light sprinkles saturday morning.

Otherwise, expect dry conditions through the weekend.

Expect high temperatures in the 70s for both saturday and sunday.

Cooler, unsettled weather is on the way for next week.
