Trudeau is asked how many times he wore brown face
Trudeau dodged the question asked by a member of the audience.
He instead repeated his apology for his past actions, what he called "inexcusable" and "wrong." The prime minister told the audience that it was important to move forward and he would "continue to fight against intolerance and racism with my actions." The Liberal Party leader's campaign has been upended since Time magazine on Wednesday (September 18) published an image of the prime minister, who is known to be a strong advocate for multiculturalism, with his face blackened at a 2001 "Arabian Nights" theme party.
He was a 29-year-old teacher at a Vancouver private school at the time.
Other images have since emerged of similar incidents.
