Trump Administration Fights Against Claifornia's Move With Auto Emissision
The Trump administration said it would revoke California’s power to set its own auto tailpipe emissions standards.
According to Reuters, if the administration does this, it would begin a massive legal battle over the future of U.S. vehicles.
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Andrew Wheeler said the revocation would ensure nationwide rules.
He said these rules are needed to create “certainty for the automotive industry.” California’s vehicle emissions rules are also followed by a dozen other states that account for more than 40 percent of U.S. vehicle sales.
