China Cancels Plans To Visit Midwest States

Chinese officials cut short their trip to the US and canceled plans to visit American farmers next week.

Officials said they had to return to China earlier than planned and would no longer visit the Midwest.

Trump administration officials were meeting with their Chinese counterparts in Washington.

The meetings were to lay the framework for future negotiations, says Business Insider.

The planned visits to US farmlands had been seen as a gesture of goodwill to the Trump administration.

US Lawyers Silent At Testimony That GOP Congressman Tempted Assange With Pardon

A lawyer said Friday that in 2017, she witnessed a former GOP congressman dangle a pardon from President Donald Trump before her client, Julian Assange.
