L3: now at 11 white fundraiser for officers killed in line of duty "every officer that's killed no matter, it's been 16 years for me, the reaction is always the same."

And you'll hear from a law enforcement widow... who says she still feels the pain of losing her husband... years later.

Good evening and welcome in... i'm tom kenny.

And i'm veronica jean seltzer.

Today... house speaker nancy pelosi announced an official impeachment inquiry into president trump.

It all stems from a whistleblower report about a phone call between donald trump... and the president of ukraine.

The transcription of that call and the report are both set to be released tomorrow.

Mona kosar abdi has the latest in tonight's nation view.

President trump lashed out at house democrats decision to move toward impeachment..

Calling it 'witch hunt garbage" pkg: tonight -- a stunning turn by house speaker nancy pelosi... after resisting for months, the top democrat finally made her move?

Sot pelosi: the times the times have found us today.

I'm announcing the house of representatives is moving forward with an official impeachment inquiry.

The shift comes as president trump authorized the transcript of his controversial phone conversation with ukraine's president to be released--a call many speculate is part of a still- undisclosed whistle blower complaint.

The president admitting days before that conversation - in which he asked ukraine's leader to investigate his political rival, joe biden and his son-- he ordered 400 million dollars in military aid to be withheld from ukraine.

Trump insisting at first, he withheld the money because he wanted ukraine to address corruption.

A day later, the president said it was for a different reason.

Trump sot: i want other countries to put up money.

I think it's unfair we put up the money.

Then people called me and said let it go and i let it go.

We paid the money.

Pelosi calling trump's actions a violation of the constitution-- demanding that the white house also release the secret whistle blower complaint.

But president trump and other top republicans are calling the impeachment inquiry--a political ploy.

Trump - "if she does that, they all say that's a positive for me from the election.

You could also say, who needs it?

It's bad for the country.

Tag: on tuesday, the entire u.s. senate passed a non-binding resolution, calling on the trump administration to release the secret whistle blower complaint to congressional intelligence committees.
