Dayton Elementary Opens New Makerspace Lab

Students at Dayton Elementary School will now have the chance to learn more about science through their new Maker-space lab.

Tsc is partnering with the indiana next generation manufacturing competitiveness center at purdue university to make the lab.

The lab introduces kids ages kindergarten through fifth grade a look into science, technology, engineering, art and math.

Heather frauhiger (frow-hi-ger) says it will help get children involved in stem activities.

Some kiddos have never experience anything like this and nowadays there are so many jobs that need these kind of skills, coding and things like that that you're not going to get within the four walls of a regular room.

The space features 3d printers, two robotic arms, a green screen and as well as a small robotic ball- which the children are able to control and move around with their tablets.
