Afghanistan Suicide Attack Kills 2 U.S. Service Members, Pen

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan -- A suicide bomber struck a NATO convoy near the southern Afghan city of Kandahar on Wednesday killing two U.S. service members, the Pentagon said.

The pentagon confirms--- two u-s troops have died in an afghan suicide bombing.

The taliban originally claimed responsibility... saying the bombing killed as many as 15 u-s troops.

The suicide bomber was driving a pickup full of explosives that detonated near the kandahar airport.

It destroyed two armored nato tanks.

More than 13-thousand u-s and nato troops from 39-countries remain in afghanistan.

The trump administration is considering sending about 4-thousand ***more american soldiers there in hopes of stopping recent taliban gains.
