Oh, god, who shows a life of your truth that goes straight that may return to the path.

The grease to reject whatever is contrary ough the name of christ and to strive for all that doesn't honor.

Through our lord jesus christ our son who lives and reigns forever and ever.

>> amen.

>> lecturn: a reading from the book of the year old prophet amos amaziah, priest year old of bethel, said to amos, ff year old with you, visionary, flee to year old the land of judah!

Year old there earn year old your bread by prophesying, but year old never again prophesy in bethel; year old for it is the king's year old sanctuary and a royal temple.

Year old year old amos answered amaziah, was year old no prophet, nor have i belonged year old to a company of prophets; i was year old a shepherd and a dresser of year old sycamores.

Year old the lord took me year old from following the flock, and year old said to me, go, prophesy to year old my people israel.

Old of the lord.

>> father bakke: thanks be to god.

>> lecturn: lloyd, c your kindness and grant us yes of ion.

>> father bakke: lord c your kindness and grant us your salvation.

>> lecturn: i will hear what god proclaims; year old the lord -for he proclaims year old peace.

Near indeed is his year old salvation to those who fear year old him, glory dwelling in our year old land.

>> lecturn: lloyd, c your kindness and grant us your salvation.

Kindness and truthshall meet; year old .

>> lecturn: justice and peace shall kiss.

Year old truth shall spring out of the year old earth, and justice shall look year old down from heaven.

>> lecturn: lord, let us see your kindness, year old and grant us your salvation.

Year old year old.

>> lecturn: the lord himself will give his year old benefits; our land shall yield year old its increase.

Justice shall year old walk before him, and prepare year old the way of his steps.

>> all: lord, let us see your kindness, year old and grant us your salvation.

Year old.

>> lecturn: a reading from the letter of year old saint paul to the ephesians year old blessed be the god and father year old of our lord jesus christ, who year old has blessed us in christ with year old every spiritual blessing in the year old heavens, as he chose us in him, year old before the foundation of the year old world, to be holy and without year old blemish before him.

Year old in love year old he destined us for adoption to year old himself through jesus christ, year old in accord with the favor of his year old will, for the praise of the year old glory of god's grace that he year old granted us in the beloved.

In year old him we have redemption by his year old blood, the forgiveness of year old transgressions, in accord with year old the riches of his grace that he year old lavished upon us.

Year old in all year old wisdom and insight, he has made year old known to us the mystery of his year old will in accord with his favor year old that he set forth in him as a year old plan for the fullness of times, year old to sum up all things in christ, year old in heaven and on earth.

The word of the lord.

>> father bakke: thanks be to god.

>> father bakke: alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.

>> lecturn: alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.

>> lecturn: may the father of our lord jesus christ enlighten the eyes of our hearts, that we may know what is the hope that belongs to our call.

Year old >> all: alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.

>> father bakke: year old the lord be with you.

>> lecturn: and with your spirit.

>> lecturn: glory to you, o lord.

>> father bakke: jesus summoned the twelve and year old began to send them out two by year old two and gave them authority year old over unclean spirits.

Year old he year old instructed them to take nothing year old for the journey but a walking year old stick- no food, no sack, no year old money in their belts.

Year old they year old were, however, to wear sandals year old but not a second tunic.

Year old he year old said to them, year old herever you year ol house, stay there until year old you leave.

Year old whatever place year old does not welcome you or listen year old to you, leave there and shake year old the dust off your feet in year old testimony against them.

So year old they went off and preached year old repentance.

Year old the twelve drove year old out many demons, and they year old anointed with oil many who were year old sick and cured them.

The year old gospel of the lor .

>> lecturn: praise you, lord jesus christ .

>> father bakke: this day in this beautiful liturgy we heard god's word reclaimed from sacred scripture.

It's good to know that we have this bible that is not just one book it's more like a library.

A library of 73 books that have different writing styles within them and again primarily pronouncing the revelation of who our god is in the old testament times as well as in the new testament and especially through jesus christ himself.

And we have this library of experiences of those revelations but the constant invitation of god to believe in him and to allow god to be number one.

That first commandment in people's lives and how that impacts our lives as people of faith.

I often think about the bible, those 73 books, as a training manual in our continually growing into as a priestly people and sense of leadership that we are called to have like last weekend and our role as prophets every single day with whoever we are where we are to be proclaiming the truth of our god.

So, again, this morning we met the prophet amos in that first reading as last week we met ezekiel.

Both of them were met to bring the truth of god to people who had been wandering away from god and getting caught up in the world in which they were living and by turning against god.

So what was the work of the prophet to call him.

So it was amos who ran into the profits of the pagan gods.

He -- they were telling amos just go home.

And so the difficulty that we encounter as prophets, whether in sacred scripture, jesus christ himself as the word of god or anyone of us living our prophetic voice it's not an easy job.

Sometimes we will face acceptance, sometimes just hear the gospel and jesus being clearly not sugarcoating as they had spent the time following him and now he was sending them out to bring the truth out to god, that revelation of god to people wherever they were and again realizing that sometimes they would have to shake the dust because people were not willing and open to listening to that word for discovering god and a whole new kind of way.

It's talked about in many ways and reference in the scriptures one of the major challenges that the prophets of old aswell as for all of us continually face our different understandings of life .

Different understandings about what is the priority and the focal point of what creates our life and spirituality and what sets our morals, values whatever that might be there's certainly one of those that is our way of living called existentialism and another one is relatives them and basically both of them speak louder voices and the understanding of life is that i am number one and i can decide whatever i want to do.

I can decide what is right and wrong.

Basically another way of saying is no one else is going to tell me what to do.

Nobody else.

And that sometimes refers to government, traffic laws, we refer to the church.

It can refer to the scriptures, it can refer to godhimself .

That choosing to reject what god has to say as a directive, as a formative power the lives and being able to view god and the church as a hindrance to my freedom, our freedom that is often decided as my choices and my decisions for the journey of understanding and an understanding of life comes again from who our god is and an openness to trust god and to allow god to be number one.

The first commandment of moses, the first commandment of jesus of how we grow to believe and love god with everything we are and how that impacts everything in our lives.

So the biblical vision of understanding of life is how we make god number one.

That is our prophetic voice.

Our prophetic voice to continually call to other people.

And it was that message that even the earliest christians were often illegal because they were considered to be atheists because they were telling people not to worship the pagan gods including caesar but the one true god.

And so it is one of the greatest assurances that god gave to amos , jesus gave to the apostles, the lord speaks to us again this day is that we have the power of the holy spirit and that we have that spirit of truth and god is always with us.

The same god that was with the martyrs as they went to the death missionaries going into often hostile lands.

All of us as we strive to be faithful to the lord.

In a society that goesdifferent route and chooses a different kind of pathway for an understanding and a living of life.

So me we continue to be strong and of faith and fearlessness in speaking god's truth and knowing that sometimes can be unpopular with lots and lots of people but you live in the real sense of freedom that comes from being faithful to our god.

>> all: i believe in one god, the year old father almighty, maker of year old heaven and earth, of all things year old visible and invisible.

I year old believe in one lord jesus year old christ, the only begotten son year old of god, born of the father year old before all ages.

God from god, year old light from light, true god from year old true god, begotten, not made, year old consubstantial with the father; year old through him all things were year old made.

For us men and for our year old salvation heaven, and by the holy spirit year old was incarnate of the virgin year old mary, and became man.

For our year old sake he was crucified under year old pontius pilate, he suffered year old death and was buried, and rose year old again on the third day in accordance with the scriptures.

He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the father.

He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end.

I believe in the holy spirit, the lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the father and the son, who with the father and the son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets i believe in one, holy, year old catholic and apostolic church.

Year old i confess one baptism for the year old forgiveness of sins and i year old look forward to the year old resurrection of the dead and year old the life of the world to come.

Year old year old 's.

Make holy therefore these gifts we pray by sending down your spirits upon them like you do fall so that may become for us the body and blood of our lord jesus christ.

At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion, he took bread and gave the blessing, broke the bread and gave it to his disciples saying take this all of you and eat of it for this is my body which will be given up for you.

In a similar way when supper was ended he took the chalice and once more giving thanks he gave it to his disciples saying take this all of you and drink from it.

But this is a chalice of my blood, the blood of the new and eternal covenant which will be poured out for you and many for the forgiveness of sins.

Do this in memory of me.

The mystery of faith.

>> all: we proclaim your death, o lord, and profess your resurrection, until you come again.

Year old.

>> father bakke: therefore as we celebrate the memorial of his resurrection we offer you the chalice of salvation giving thanks that you have held is worthy to be in your presence and administer to you.

Humbly we pray by taking of the body and blood of christ we may be gathered into one by the church spread throughout the world and bring it to the fold as a charity together with france's the pope and robert our bishop and all the clergy.

Remember also our brothers and sisters were fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection and all who have died in your light of your face.
