Sheriff james meyers - chickasaw county "on his way over there he met a vehicle at a high rate of speed, liked to have hti him head on .

He turned around and initiated a stop on vehicle, and that vehicle refused to stop."

The suspect led deputies on a chase through okolona and towards shannon ina dark chevrolet tahoe... "our officers followed at a distance, not pushing the subject but staying insight."

Stand up and after this chase ended up into lee county the driver of this vehicle ended up driving it into a ditch before runing into the woods to try and get away.

Deputies spent the next 2 hours searching through the woods for the driver of the vehicle meyers says that pursuits like this endanger more than just the driver and officers... "the serious thing about pursuits is that it not only puts the violator at risk, but it also puts the officers and the public so we try to encourage most of the time just stop."

"right now we don't want to release his name, we are narrowing in on it to make we are 100 percent sure we know who it is."
