Jim Cramer On U.S.-China Trade Talks

Trade talks between the U.S. and China resumed today with representatives meeting today and Trump planning to meet Vice Premier Liu at the White House tomorrow.

But what Trump rally wants is unclear after his latest tweet: Big day of negotiations with China.

They want to make a deal, but do I?

I meet with the Vice Premier tomorrow at The White House.

— Donald J.

Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 10, 2019 Jim Cramer gave his thoughts on the latest news from the talks: "He's presenting them as desperate.

I think that internally what they're really talking about, just, you know, is, are they going to abandon, is The President going to abandon his seven deadly sin insistence, that's Navarro, and instead capitalize on something else that I know that they care about, which is that their plan had always been the same, which is they take tariffs to 25, threaten 30, and they can take them down if the Chinese played ball.

And if not, they keep them.

And the American people make money, which of course is the way the President thinks, so what you really want to stay close to is the notion of are they going to get, the Chinese, going to get relief on the next five, October 15."
