And welcome back.
It's been a busy day of high school playoffs across the state of indiana, so let's jump right into it.
We start on the pitch in ellettsville as west vigo and south vermillion compete for a sectional championship.
We're tied after 80 minutes so we head to ot, look at this attempt from south vermillion's cale royer as the ball just goes over the cross bar.
To the second half of ot now, still tied at zero, west vigo on the attack but keeper ian lorey covers the ball before a shot can be attempted.
Final seconds of ot, wildcats free kick gets bounced around before the ball finds keegan mackey and he sends this one just over the cross bar as well.
We're heading to penalty kicks.
Tied at 3 all in pk's.
Vikings keeper aiden rubinacci guesses the shot correctly and comes up with the huge save.
All west vigo needs is for jonathan otte to hit his shot and they're sectional champs and he does it!
For just the second time in the programs history, the west vigo vikings are sectional champions as they beat south vermillion 5-4 in pk's.
<it's amazing and to be coached by the person who won it the first time it's something really special.
This is our third year in a row going to a sectional championship and so it's really special.
You know, i've been here my entire high school career and to finally win it in my senior year, words can't describe it.
I'm estatic.> <just chills going down my spine, nerve racking, the fans were...just...it was amazing.
It's the greatest feeling ever.
I'm just proud.
We've battled through everything and it was tough season and it's just great.>
