Esther Duflo is the youngest person and the second woman to win the prize in economics.

She teaches at MIT with Abhijit Banarjee.

The two are married.

Michael Kremer is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

He is a professor at Harvard University.

The three recipients will split the $915,300 monetary award.
