Trial for Rock County man accused of stabbing woman to death enters second day, evidence presented

The trial for Julian Collazo, the Rock County man accused of stabbing a woman to death in December 2017, has entered its second day.

Report later this week.

Today marks the second day in a rock county homicide trial dating back to 2017... several key witnesses took the stand today.... rock county reporter adam duxter was there..

And joins us now from our rock county bureau at the janesville gazette with the latest... eric and dannika..

A jury spent close to seven hours today listening to key witnesses describe the events that happened both before and after the 2017 stabbing death of christine scaccia-lubeck during court today... the jury heard from a police officer from cape girardeau missouri... where julian colazzo and nicole kazar were arrested in relation to the crime.

The court was also presented several pieces of evidence... including shoes that were consistent with footprints left at the scene..

And more information about the stabbing itself.

On our initial examination of the scene and the body, we found the decedent laying in the bedroom.

There was a great deal of blood at the scene which is consistent with a traumatic injury... or suspicious for a traumatic injury.

After an examination of the body... i found evidence of sharp force trauma of the body.

Trial will continue into tomorrow... and it's anticipated that both julian collazo and nicole kazar will take the stand at some point... we will provide continued coverage as this case develops throughout the week.

Thanks adam.
