A Boeing 777 bound for Manila suffered an apparent engine failure shortly after takeoff on Thursday (November 21), making an emergency landing in Los Angeles.

Soon after the Philippine Airlines flight departed from LA International Airport, pilots reported a problem.

The Federal Aviation Administration said the plane carrying 365 people landed without incident.

Television station ABC-7 aired video of the plane after takeoff that showed flames and smoke coming out of the right engine.
