President trump is daring democrats to draft articles of impeachment against him..

Saying he wants to go to trial.

He downplayed the testimony of more than a dozen witnesses during the house impeachment inquiry over the past two-weeks and says the republican party has never been more unified..

Claiming democrats have no grounds to impeach him.

Paula reid has the latest from the white house.

At a white house event honoring national collegiate champions, the president seemed upbeat about this week's impeachmenthearing despite some bombshell testimony contradicting his denials of a quid pro quo with ukraine.

Nats trump : "i think we had a tremendous week with the hoax.

They call it the impeachment hoax."

Nats sondland: "as a presidential appointee, i followed the directions of the president."

But eu ambassador gordon sondland, testified on wednesday that mr. trump was behind the efforts to pressure ukranian president zelensky to announce an investigation into former vice president joe biden and his son hunter as well as the 20-16 election.

In an interview with fox and friends, president trump denied that.

Trump audio: "well, that's total nonsense.

This guy, sondland, hardly know him.

I've had a couple of conversations with him.

I see him hanging around, ya know when i go to europe."

The president also took issue with top u.s. ukrainian diplomat david holmes' who testified he overheard ambassador sondland speaking by cell phone with president.

David holmes: "i then heard president trump ask, "so, he's gonna do the investigation?"

Ambassador sondland replied that "he's gonna do it," adding that president zelenskyy will do "anything you ask him to do."

Trump audio: "i've been watching guys for 40 years making phone calls and i can't hear and you can be two feet away.

I can't hear people making calls.

I can't hear the other side."

President trump continues to charge that ukraine conspired to hurt his presidential campaign in 20-16, a theory that has been debunked.

Trump audio: "don't forget, ukraine hated me.

They were after me in the election.

They wanted hillary clinton to win."

And cbs has confirmed that american intelligence officials recently briefed senators that russia has been engaged in a year long campaign to frame ukraine for moscow's own hacking of the 2016 election.

Outstanding subpoenas for several top officials, including former national security adviser john bolton, are currently tied up in court.

Some folks in our area are putting a "fresh" spin on thanksgiving dinner.

We'll tell you more after the break.

Stay with us.

Thanksgiving.

A time for family and your favorite home cooked meals.

But some people don't have enough to go around.

That's why one oxford organization is making sure these families have a fresh meal on the table.

Our deandria turner is in the studio and has more on the story that's right cash the harvest angel project is an annual event, and every year they put a fresh spin on thanksgiving " a serving of kale, carrots, a dozen eggs."

All for local families in need this thanksgiving.

"hey ma'am would you like a thanksgiving basket."

While the food pantry provides the main course like turkey, the oxford community market's harvest angel provides families with loads of fresh produce for the thanksgiving table.

"you don't really see a lot of fresh produce and it's definitely not enough to make an entire meal fori think that it's really cool how we can get all these bags together for them especially around thanksgiving time to have a full meal for their family."

Coordinator betsy chapman says the entire community gets involved in the effort.

"our customers have been very successful in making donations so that we can purchase the local food from our farmers so it's helping both people in need, the clients at the pantry and our farmers who are heading into a slow season."

The joy of sharing meals with customers is volunteer jamie dufault favorite part about harvest angel boxes.

"just seeing people that i've given baskets to they are like oh yeah let me have a have a bt chapman says this project is important because everyone needs a hearty meal this holiday season "everyone deserves access to the high quality fresh nutritious food that we sell here at the farmers market so we want to do our part to make sure everybody gets some."

They have over 70 bags of locally grown produce to give out for this harvest angels project.

This project has been going on for three years.

After more than a year of working and planning, the city of amory is now officially a stop on the mississippi blues trail.

Wcbi's chad groening has more.

They gathered at amory's historic vinegar bend...to celebrate the unveiling of the marker on the site that has now officially been dubbed vinegar bend blues alley.

It signifies the newest stop on the mississippi blues trail.

It documents an historic journey through mississippi for travelers and blues fans to learn about the birth of blues in the magnolia state.

"we were so excited that we were able to bring something to amory that was going to be something that locals would be proud of.

And that people could come and visit our town and see you know what our small town has right here downtown on main street."

"we're very blessed as mississippians to have a genre of music that sprouted from our state, sprouted under bad circumstances but it spouted from our state nonetheless and it forced other genres into being.

And we're blessed to be part of that, to be part of our heritage a very rich musical heritage.

And we're blessed as residents of amory to play a part in that."

Vinegar bend blues alley has become an intregal part of downtown amory.

And with the erection of this plague it will be even more so.

But none of this would have happned if it hadn't been for a fire.

"there was another owner that owned this building here and a couple years ago the building burned and so i decided that i would buy this lot and i bought the building next door over here also because we needed that area to complete our park.

Over a year ago i had heard that there were several people trying to get the blues marker in amory and it kind of fizzled out.

So i decided that i wanted to take that project on because i wanted our park here to have something special."

And the unveiling of this marker was a very special moment for dillon mckinney of amory who has been singing gospel since he was four years old.

"you know everybody likes to dance and they like to have fun or whatever.

And to some people the blues relax their mind.

It put joy down in them."

And the blues have an international following kjell westerlund of amory is originally from sweden.

"i grew up in the era of soul music, you know sam and dave and wilson picket and all these guys.

But then i wanted to find a route for it.

So i went deeply into the blues and every since i've been a blues man."

And mississppi's miss hospitality kasey pearson summed things up.

"and as we rock and roll along we'll come across a blues crossroads and hear jazz, gospel, country and more.

Your ears will experience first hand the birthplace of america's music."

Chad groening, wcbi news, amory.

Organizers say the blues trail is the biggest tourist attraction in mississippi, and amory is a part of it.
