TAMANDUA, GENUS OF ANTEATER, HANGING ON PLAYGROUND BARS OVERLAID BY CAMERA OPERATOR SAYING (English): 'YOU'RE SO BUSY I CAN'T KEEP YOU IN THE FRAME', TAMANDUA APPROACHING CAMERA OVERLAID BY CAMERA OPERATOR SAYING 'OH OH, NO, THAT'S MINE', CAMERA OPERATOR LAUGHING, TAMANDUA GETTING SNACK FROM KEEPER, TAMANDUA CLIMBING AND HANGING ON BARS STORY: A six-year-old southern tamandua anteater, named Isla, showed off its impressively strong tail while hanging out on playground bars at the Cincinnati Zoo on April 18.

The playful tamandua manoeuvred on the playground bars and grabbed a snack from a zookeeper as she stretched down with her prehensile tail.

Also called the lesser anteater, the tamandua uses its long snout to sniff out ants, termite and bee colonies.

Long claws enable it to dig into nests, and a long sticky tongue licks up the insects.

A single tamandua can eat up to 9,000 ants in a single day, Angela Hatke from Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden told Reuters.
