Former "Daily Show" host Jon Stewart joined lawmakers and families of veterans on Capitol Hill Tuesday to support a bill to help American soldiers who were exposed to toxic burn pits in the wars that followed terrorist attacks in the United States.
Indians in the United States celebrated the foundation laying ceremony of Ayodhya's Ram Temple. Indians gathered outside Capitol Hill in Washington for the celebration. People wore saffron clothes, held saffron flags to celebrate the Bhoomi Pujan. Members of Indian community also chanted 'Jai Shri Ram'. Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed 'bhumi pujan' & laid foundation stone of the new Ram temple. PM Modi also offered prayers at Hanumangarhi and the idols of 'Ram lalla' or child deity. All participants, including PM and priests, wore face masks and observed social distancing norms. Attendance at the event was limited due to outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, UP CM Yogi Adityanath also attended the grand ceremony. Construction of Ram Temple is beginning 9 months after SC verdict. Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra Trust is overseeing temple construction.

In a hearing on Capitol Hill Tuesday, Attorney General William Barr denied accusations by House Democrats that he is doing President Trump's bidding by intervening in high-profile cases and sending federal agents into U.S. cities. Lisa Bernhard reports.
Members of the Indian, Vietnamese and the Tibetan communities held a protest outside the Capitol Hill in Washington against China. The protesters were holding anti-China posters, urging people to boycott Chinese products. They shouted slogans against China's expansionist policies against their neighbours. Posters urging China to vacate Akshai Chin and Kashmir were also seen during the protest. Since the Galwan standoff between India and China, anti-China protests have broken out in several cities in the United States. 'China is aggressively trying to steal the land from India in Ladakh, Arunachal Pradesh. They are intimidating Bhutan. They have also claimed that the Tajikistan mountains belong to them. Vietnam, Malaysia, Japan, Russia are also victims of China's expansionist policies', said a protester Adapa Prasad. Members of Vietnamese community also lashed out against the Communist government of China and said that their fight is against the CCP and not the people of China. China's expansionist policy has been slammed by countries across the world. China also faced flak for the Galwan faceoff where 20 India jawans were killed. Watch the full video for all the details.

Farmers in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur welcomed the two farm sector reform Bills that were passed in the Rajya Sabha. "I am happy about these bills and I thank Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar who introduced the bills. Farmers of Udhampur are happy and now the bills should be implemented firmly," said, a farmer. The Rajya Sabha passed the Farmers' Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020, and The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill amid protest from Opposition parties. As per the bills, farmers can take their produce anywhere - inter-state or intra-state - beyond Agricultural Produce Market Committees (APMCs). The state governments can't levy fee or cess on farmers.
Terrorists reportedly launched a terror attack on personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force in Jammu and Kashmir. The attack took place in Srinagar's Nowgam, as per reports with no injuries or casualties so far. The terrorists' target was 110 Battalion of the CRPF. The attack came days after a big revelation by Jammu and Kashmir's police chief. Director-General of the Union Territory's police force, Dilbag Singh, had said that Pakistani agencies were dropping weapons and drugs via drones to try and disturb peace in the region. The Kandi belt in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district is yet to get irrigation facility. However, to keep the livelihood of farmers afloat, the Agriculture Department has started a project to introduce new farming techniques to the locals of Kandi. Around 70 farmers in the Kandi belt are now growing multiple vegetables in their fields in the rainy season. This organic farming method has multiplied their earnings by 3-4 times. The farmers use cluster method by cultivating similar vegetables which include cucumber, lady finger, Brinjal and bitter gourd. One of the farmers appreciated the administration's initiative, and said earlier only one house used to grow cucumbers, but since the government intervention, almost all the farmers have started cultivating such vegetables and more.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated Police Premier League (PPL) T-20 cricket tournament in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar. Director General of Police (DGP) of J-K, Dilbag Singh was also present in the event. 16 teams from Srinagar are participating in the tournament. "16 teams from Srinagar are participating in it. We want youth and children to have some relaxed and healthy moments," DGP said.
