Terrorists reportedly launched a terror attack on personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force in Jammu and Kashmir. The attack took place in Srinagar's Nowgam, as per reports with no injuries or casualties so far. The terrorists' target was 110 Battalion of the CRPF. The attack came days after a big revelation by Jammu and Kashmir's police chief. Director-General of the Union Territory's police force, Dilbag Singh, had said that Pakistani agencies were dropping weapons and drugs via drones to try and disturb peace in the region. The Kandi belt in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district is yet to get irrigation facility. However, to keep the livelihood of farmers afloat, the Agriculture Department has started a project to introduce new farming techniques to the locals of Kandi. Around 70 farmers in the Kandi belt are now growing multiple vegetables in their fields in the rainy season. This organic farming method has multiplied their earnings by 3-4 times. The farmers use cluster method by cultivating similar vegetables which include cucumber, lady finger, Brinjal and bitter gourd. One of the farmers appreciated the administration's initiative, and said earlier only one house used to grow cucumbers, but since the government intervention, almost all the farmers have started cultivating such vegetables and more.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated Police Premier League (PPL) T-20 cricket tournament in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar. Director General of Police (DGP) of J-K, Dilbag Singh was also present in the event. 16 teams from Srinagar are participating in the tournament. "16 teams from Srinagar are participating in it. We want youth and children to have some relaxed and healthy moments," DGP said.
Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah on Saturday said that he was not against the operations being carried out by security forces in the valley but against the loss of innocent lives during those operations. "The Army has agreed that the three persons who were killed in Shopian were killed by mistake and the government should provide a huge compensation in this case," Abdullah said. Yesterday, Army chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane had said that the investigation into the Amshipora case will be conducted with utmost fairness and will be taken to their logical conclusion. Meanwhile, the Army said that the inquiry ordered by the Army authorites into Operation Amshipora has concluded adding that during the operation, powers vested under the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) 1990 were exceeded.

Ministry of External Affairs, spokesperson Anurag Srivastava on August 27 said that India shared enough evidence with Pakistan on Pulwama terror attack but the country continues to evade responsibility. "Pulwama attack chargesheet was filed after probe of a year and half. It has been filed to address the act of terrorism and to bring perpetrators of the heinous crime to justice. Our aim is not to simply issue statements or notifications, Jaish-e-Mohammed had claimed responsibility for Pulwama attack, the organisation and its leaders are in Pakistan. It's regrettable that Masood Azhar, the first accused, continues to find shelter in Pak. We've shared enough evidence with Pak but it continues to evade responsibility," said Srivastava during press conference.
NIA filed chargesheet in 2019 Pulwama terror attack case on Tuesday. A team of officers reached NIA court in Jammu to file the chargesheet. The IED attack on February 14, 2019 claimed lives of 40 CRPF personnel. NIA has named JeM chief Maulana Masood Azhar and his brother Abdul Rauf Asghar as primary accused in chargesheet. Several other JeM commanders and seven arrested people have been named accused. The over 5,000-page chargesheet has been completed after an extensive probe conducted by a team of DIG Sonia Narang and SP Rakesh Balwal. Officials said chargesheet has evidence on Pakistan's role in the attack. NIA probe has revealed that Pakistan used a local - Adil Ahmad Dar - in the attack. Dar rammed an explosive-laden car into the CRPF convoy in Pulwama. NIA chargesheet also has details of communications of key players in bombing. Pulwama attack threatened to spark a full-blown conflict between India and Pakistan. JeM claimed responsibility for the ghastly attack which prompted India to carry out airstrike on terror camp in Pakistan's Balakot.

National Investigation Agency (NIA) team reached NIA court in Jammu to file a chargesheet in 2019 Pulwama terror attack case, in which 40 CRPF personnel were killed in an IED blast on February 14. In July, the NIA informed that it has arrested the seventh accused named, Bilal Ahmed Kuchey, whom the agency has termed as 'a terror associate' on July 05.According to the agency, Kuchey a resident of Hajibal, Kakapora, Jammu and Kashmir, runs a sawmill at his place and harboured and extended logistic support to the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorists involved in the Pulwama attack. The main perpetrators in the case stayed in his house and Kuchey further introduced them to other over ground workers (OGWs) who provided safe houses during their stay and planning of the attack. He also provided the JeM terrorists with high-end mobile phones which were used by them to communicate with the Pakistan-based JeM leadership as well as among themselves for giving final touches to their planning and for the execution of the attack, according to the agency. Further, one of the mobiles provided by him was also used for recording the video clip of a terrorist Adil Ahmed Dar, which became viral after the attack.
The young Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) officer, who has scripted history by receiving 7th PMG, has dedicated his Police Medal for Gallantry to his buddy who lost his life in a fidayeen attack by Jaish-E-Mohammad (JeM) terrorists. 35-year-old CRPF Assistant Commandant, Naresh Kumar, has become the officer who has received maximum seven PMG in his service. Naresh has achieved this in 4 years and has been awarded with PMGs for neutralising terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir with other security forces. Speaking to ANI, Naresh said, "I want to dedicate this PMG to my buddy Shaheed Mohd. Yasin Teli was killed in a fidayeen attack by Jaish terrorists in JandK's Pulwama. Just after that operation, we neutralised 3 Jaish terrorists and for that operation, I have been awarded with PMG this time. The first thing came in my mind was my buddy. So I want to dedicate this PMG to him." "A buddy is the most important person for any person involved in operations. We guard lives of our buddies like a shield and they protect us in the same manner during the operation," he added. Naresh also said that decrease in stone-pelting incidents in the Valley has helped forces in conducting anti-terrorist operations. "Earlier, there were cases when locals used to pelt stones during operation and terrorists used to get benefit of it to flee but now no such thing happens," Naresh said. While speaking about his personal experiences, Naresh said that his parents used to get news of any operations through TV channels. "Nobody gets a chance to talk to the family members during operations. Like any other parents, my parents also used to get news from TV of some operations in Jammu and Kashmir. But the first thing I used to do after finishing the operation was to talk to my parents," Naresh said.
Jammu and Kashmir Police along with the security forces busted a terror module and arrested two persons in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch. According to police, plan was for targeted killing and IED explosions in the region. The police and security forces also recovered IEDs, 3 Pistols, 11 grenades, IED making instructions in a pen drive, wireless sets etc. Case has been registered and investigation is underway.
Jammu and Kashmir Police have recovered stolen mobile phones which are worth almost Rs. 26 lakh. These mobile phones were stolen by robbers from a mobile phone shop in Gojwara. During the course of investigation, services of FSL unit as well as electronic surveillance units were utilised. Police have arrested 3 people in the connection.
JandK General Operation Commanding (GOC), Victor Force, Major General A Sengupta on August 28 informed that 8 terrorists were neutralized and one was forced to surrender during two operations of over 18 hours. "Under two operations over 18 hours commencing from yesterday afternoon, based on very precise intelligence and hard work of JK Police and RR battalions, we were able to neutralise 8 terrorists, including taking one surrender," said Major General Sengupta. He further added, "7 of the 8 terrorists who have been neutralised were recruited in 2020, and these misguided youth were recruited with the false promises by Pakistani terrorists, Pakistani handlers and people in society with anti-national sentiments."
