India's covid cases cross 50 lakh mark with 1,290 deaths reported in the last 24 hours|Oneindia News

India has reached another grim milestone in the battle against the Coronavirus Pandemic breaching the 50 lakh mark.

With a single day spike of 90,123 new cases, the tally has reached 50,20,360.

While a record highest single day death toll of 1,290 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours.

The total number of people who have died because of the disease now stands at 80,776.

The COVID-19 case fatality rate was at 1.64 per cent.

Meanwhile India's recovery rate rose to 78.28 per cent.

A total of 39,42,361 patients stand cured.

Maharashtra remains the worst affected state by the pandemic with a tally of 10.7 lakh cases.
