Historic decommissioned aircraft carrier of Indian Navy 'Viraat' commenced its last journey on September 19.

The aircraft carrier started its last journey from Mumbai naval dockyard and will reach Gujarat port.

Indian Navy on its official twitter account tweeted, "Viraat Callsign "Romeo Two Two" - End of an era, a glorious chapter in the history of @indiannavy.

She departs Mumbai today for her final journey.

Old ships never die, their spirit lives on."

India successfully test fired a land attack version of BrahMos supersonic missile. The supersonic cruise missile was test-fired on November 24 at Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It hit its target, which was on a different island with ‘pinpoint accuracy’. The strike range of BrahMos missile has now been enhanced to over 400 km. BrahMos Aerospace, an India-Russian joint venture, produces the lethal weapon that can be launched from submarines, ships, aircraft, or from land platforms. According to official sources, in the next few days, the Indian Air Force and the Indian Navy are scheduled to carry out separate test-firing of the new version of the air-launched and naval versions of the supersonic cruise missile respectively. SITMEX 2020: Phase 2 of trilateral maritime exercise commences in Andaman Sea

A trilateral naval exercise involving India, Singapore, Thailand commenced in Andaman Sea. This is the second edition of the two-day long naval exercise, SITMEX 2020. The exercise is scheduled in a 'non-contact, at sea only format' in view of Covid-19. SITMEX-2020 aims to further consolidate interoperability between the three navies. The exercise also aims to enhance understanding best practices for multi-faceted maritime operations. This edition would involve a war-at-sea exercise, naval manoeuvres, weapon firing, etc. Indian Navy is represented by two indigenous warships - INS Kamorta and INS Karmuk. Singapore is represented by RSS Intrepid and RSS Endeavour while Thailand is by HTMS Kraburi. The five-day maiden edition of the exercise was conducted in September 2019. Exercise was held off Andaman and Nicobar Islands with the harbour phase at Port Blair.
