Mexican politician pretends to be in Zoom meeting

A Mexican politician is filmed using a photo so she can pretend to be present at a virtual zoom meeting. The event happened during a remote meeting of the Congress of Mexico City, capital of Mexico, located in the center of Mexico, on September 18th.Valentina Batres Guadarrama, a legislator of the National Regeneration Movement, a leftist party, put a photograph of herself in the camera to pretend that she was paying attention, reported Mexican newspaper El Universal.During the session of the Congress, it made it seem as if the deputy is observed listening carefully to the issues at hand. She was caught when she attempted to quickly leave her seat while leaving behind a photo of herself in front of the camera and was recorded. On several occasions, she also uses her arm to adjust the image which also shows that it was only a photograph.Jorge Gavino, deputy of the local Democratic Revolution Party (PRD), also a left-wing party, showed through his social networks a copy of the video in which Guadarrama is seen carrying out the con.On his Twitter account, Gavino said: " I was thinking you were paying a lot of attention to my speech, until I realized that your attentive look was a photograph."As expected, this has been the result of memes and mockery in social media, with many users questioning how a political figure can be allowed to do such a thing.
