Senior BJP leader Uma Bharti said Friday the "suspicious" action of UP police in the Hathras incident has "dented" the image of the BJP, the state government and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and requested him to allow mediapersons and politicians to meet the victim's family.
Bharti, who has been admitted to AIIMS-Rishikesh after testing positive for COVID-19, said had she been fine she would have herself visited the family in Hathras district, and added she will definitely visit the family after getting discharged from the hospital.
"UP police's suspicious action has dented the image of BJP, UP government and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath," the senior BJP leader said in a series of tweets in Hindi.
Bharti said she has been keeping a close watch on the entire Hathras incident and urged Adityanath to allow media and political leaders to meet the aggrieved family.

She added that Tejashwi would have faced a situation akin to what Digvijaya Singh did to the Kamal Nath government in Madhya Pradesh. Tejashwi Yadav led RJD emerged as the single largest party in Bihar but failed to reach majority mark in the state. NDA won 125 seats in the state with BJP winning 74 seats alone, while JDU won 43 seats. Congress, which fought polls in alliance with Tejashwi led RJD managed to win only 19 seats in the state. "Uddhav Thackeray has lost his sleep after UP CM's visit to Mumbai. They have used offensive language using Saamna editorial, which we condemn. This may be their party culture. We were welcomed open-heartedly by Bollywood people," Nath told ANI.
Addressing a press conference in Mumbai on December 02, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, "We want to build a world-class film city in Uttar Pradesh. We held discussions with several producers, directors, and other experts related to film industry in this regard." On being asked about Maharashtra Chief Minister saying that he won't allow his state's business to be taken away, UP CM added, "We are not taking anything anywhere. Mumbai Film City will work in Mumbai itself, new Film City in UP is being developed in a new environment according to new requirements." On being asked about Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut's Film City comment, CM Yogi said, "We have not come here to take anything away. We are building a new Film City. Why one is getting worried about it? We are giving something new to people in form of world-class infrastructure."

Uttar Pradesh recorded 1,985 new COVID-19 cases in past 24 hours and 2,247 people have been recovered in the same duration, informed Additional Chief Secretary of Health Department, Amit Mohan Prasad. He said that the recovery rate of the state stands at 94.46 per cent against COVID-19.

A four-year-old boy who fell into a borewell in Uttar Pradesh died on Thursday. The incident took place in Budhaura village of Mahoba district. Dhanendra had fallen into the borewell at around 2:30 pm on Wednesday when he was playing. Police said that the toddler's parents were irrigating the field at the time of the incident. Mahoba DM said that the child was taken out from the borewell after an 18-hour rescue operation. He added that the kid was rushed to the hospital where doctors declared him dead.
